Trims Assistant

Department: Home Production

Reporting To: Production Buyer

Description

The Trims Assistant plays a key role in supporting the production process by supporting with the sourcing, managing the orders and tracking of trims. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organisational skills and a keen interest in fashion production.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all trims are delivered on time to support production schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with factories and trim suppliers to anticipate and resolve potential issues or delays.
  • Monitor and update the Critical Path, flagging any risks or delays to the Production Buyer and wider team.
  • Manage trim stock levels proactively to prevent shortages or excess.
  • Order, track, and maintain trim samples, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Raise trim orders for Home Production styles.
  • Manage Kimball ordering for Home Production.
  • Maintain accurate data across systems including MDS, trim database, and purchase orders.
  • Liaise with suppliers, Designers, and Buyers to support trim development and approvals.
  • Track shipments and follow up to ensure on-time delivery of materials.
  • Support in preparing trim components for sample packs and product development.
  • Provide general support to the production team as needed, assisting with day-to-day coordination tasks.
  • Risk assess trims and ensure the relevant test reports are received and approved.

Skills

  • Organised, able to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with suppliers and internal teams.
  • Detail-oriented with an interest in fashion production.
  • Basic knowledge of garment production and supply chain processes is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with production tracking systems.
