Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Senior Residential Support Worker at a Children\’s Home operated by Rivendell Ltd. The position is on-site and located in Bexley (London). The Senior Residential Support Worker will be responsible for supervising and supporting the daily activities of children and young people in the home. Responsibilities and Duties

· Liaising with young people on aspects of their physical, intellectual, emotional and social development at all times, taking into consideration their rights, choices, individuality and reality of their situation.

· Handling situations of conflict between young people in a constructive way.

· Dealing with confrontational behaviour from individuals and groups of young people.

· Advice and support in developing semi-independent skills.

· Support around education, exams and homework.

· Promoting trust, respect, sharing and good group living.

· Demonstrating and promoting values of openness, honesty, frankness, reliability and care.

· promoting equal opportunity and diversity within the home.

· Recording and report writing

· Handling petty cash and individual young person’s allowance.

· Accompanying young people to various appointments.

· Practical tasks like cooking, cleaning, and shopping.

· Maintaining health and safety at all times

Qualifications

  • Experienced and preferably qualified Diploma Level 3/NVQ 3-Children and Young People.
