Rivan Industries is a synthetic fuel company designed to decarbonise industries you can’t electrify. We aim to make synthetic fuel cheaper than fossil fuels and sustain life on earth by keeping the CO2 locked underground. We’re looking for a Commercial Director to build on our already significant book of business as we scale our manufacturing and deployment.

Rivan is bringing a completely disruptive technology and approach to a well-known commodity energy market, offering a unique opportunity to forge relationships and contracts that will set the tone for the next decade of heavy industry decarbonisation. As a company, we have one single goal – reduce the levelised cost of methane to the point drilling stops and companies mine the sky for carbon.

  • Have full responsibility for the effective operation of our site.
  • Build commercial pipeline to achieve Rivan's targets.
  • End-to-end ownership from outreach and engagement, through to negotiation, close, and delivery.
  • Market-mapping and execution.
  • Forge contracts and relationships with strategic buyers in Government and Military.
  • Accelerate funding opportunities.
  • Accessing and delivering new funding opportunities across grants, loans and strategics.
  • Garner strategic support.
  • Map all stakeholders in the delivery of our projects, specifically aimed at government (funding opportunities), policy, and long-term commercial stakeholders.
  • Devise effective communication and incentivisation plan to engage and garner their support for our projects.

Core skills:

  • 8+ years professional experience.
  • Bachelor’s or Masters in related field (preference to engineering).
  • Experience originating and scaling hardware, energy or infrastructure companies.
  • Track record of large-scale contract procurement in eMethane, biogas, or related market.
  • Examples of exceptional ability (own projects, past achievements, other).

Specifics:

  • £150k base-salary, with additional OTE.
  • Share options as part of the early team.
  • In-person work at HQ in South Bermondsey, London.
