About the Firm
Our client is a leading global buy-side firm with deep expertise across equities, fixed income, currencies, futures, options, and digital assets. The firm is known for its sophisticated technology stack, flat culture, and intellectually rigorous environment. This is a buy-side seat — not a vendor, sell-side, or fund admin role.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Operations professional to join the firm's London team supporting trading desks across European equities, futures, options, market making, and digital assets. This role sits at the intersection of front office, technology, and global operations — directly supporting traders and partnering with technology teams to drive efficiency, automation, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end trade lifecycle support across equities, futures, and options.
- Partner with traders on the desk to manage daily flow, resolve breaks, and prioritize across competing demands in a high-pressure environment.
- Identify automation and process improvement opportunities; build quick scripts and models to solve operational problems.
- Work cross-functionally with technology, risk, finance, and compliance teams to drive continuous improvement.
- Support European equities, market making activity, and emerging digital asset workflows.
- Contribute to the build-out of London operations, with growth opportunities across asset classes and currencies.
Required Qualifications
- 7-15+ years of Operations, Middle Office, or Trade Support experience at the mid-to-senior level.
- Hands-on product knowledge in equities, futures, and/or options — you can speak the language with traders.
- Strong understanding of trade lifecycle, settlement, and clearing processes.
- Comfort with Python or similar scripting languages — you don't need to be a developer, but you should be able to build quick models, automate repetitive work, and use available tools to move faster.
- Familiarity or willingness to use AI-assisted development tools.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive on a fast-paced trading floor — handles pressure, prioritizes well, self-starter.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Buy-side or hedge fund experience.
- European equities, market making, or digital asset exposure.
- Cross-asset or global macro coverage experience.
- Track record of building automation or technology-driven process improvements.
What the Firm Offers
- Direct exposure to a world-class trading floor and sophisticated technology stack.
- A culture that values quality and focus over hours worked.
- Competitive base salary, performance bonus, and benefits.
- 4 days in office (London).
- Long-term career growth across asset classes and global geographies.
