About the Role
- This is a unique opportunity to join the
- RIU London team as a
Maintenance Manager .
The ideal candidate will ensure that all hotel infrastructure, guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities are maintained to the highest safety, regulatory, and brand standards.
You will lead a dedicated maintenance team, manage preventative maintenance schedules, coordinate with external contractors, and ensure a seamless, comfortable experience for all hotel guests.
- What You’ll Do
- Managing and supervising the engineering team, including technicians and maintenance staff, to ensure efficient and effective operation of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Planning and executing preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime and ensure optimal functionality of all building systems.
- Conducting regular inspections and audits to identify and address any maintenance or safety issues, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Coordinating with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and maintenance projects.
- Managing the budget for the engineering department, monitoring expenses, and ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources.
- Ensuring the implementation of energy conservation measures and sustainable practices in line with the hotel's environmental initiatives.
- Collaborating with other departments to support their operational needs and ensure a seamless guest experience.
- Maintaining accurate records of equipment maintenance, repairs, and warranties.
- Overseeing the hotel's fire safety and emergency response procedures, conducting drills and training to ensure the safety of guests and staff.
- What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in facilities management or maintenance, ideally within a 4-star hospitality environment (or a comparable large-scale commercial property).
- Solid understanding of UK health and safety legislation, fire safety regulations, and building compliance standards.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong leadership skills, and effective communication skills.
- Relevant trade qualifications or certifications (e. g., electrical, plumbing, or general engineering) are highly preferred.
