About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to join RIU Plaza London The Westminster as a Commis. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the kitchen team in food preparation and maintaining the quality and consistency of dishes. As a Commis Chef, your role will involve working under the guidance of senior chefs, executing culinary tasks, and contributing to the overall success of the kitchen.
What You’ll Do
- Food Preparation (Mise en Place): Assisting senior chefs with daily preparation tasks, such as washing, peeling, chopping vegetables, and preparing basic sauces or garnishes.
- Station Support: Helping the Chef de Partie (CDP) during service to ensure dishes are plated correctly and sent out on time.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Maintaining strict hygiene standards (HACCP) by cleaning the kitchen, sanitizing workstations, and ensuring all equipment is handled safely.
- Quality Control: Ensuring that all ingredients used are fresh and reporting any wastage or low stock levels to the Sous Chef.
