We have an exciting opportunity for a Patient Safety & Compliance Manager to join our Governance & Compliance team. This role is based at The London Clinic, Park Square West, London (NW1 4LJ), with a hybrid working model. We are also offering a competitive salary of £62,978 to £73,997 per annum plus a fantastic array of benefits.

Job Profile

The Patient Safety & Compliance Manager will be responsible for leading and implementing The London Clinic\’s patient safety strategy, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The role involves managing patient safety incidents, overseeing investigations, and ensuring learnings are embedded into clinical practice. This is a hands-on leadership role working closely with clinical teams, senior managers, and governance bodies to enhance patient safety outcomes.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and experienced patient safety professional with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare outcomes. They will demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, a proactive and solutions-focused mindset, and the ability to engage, influence, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. A proven track record in incident investigations, risk management, and quality improvement is essential, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving healthcare environment.

A key requirement for this role is at least six months of experience implementing the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF). We are seeking an expert in this framework who can adapt and tailor PSIRF principles to develop an effective, high-quality patient safety programme within the private healthcare sector.

To be considered for this role, a current professional registration (NMC, GMC, HCPC, etc.) is essential.

Job Type: Full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week.

Salary: £62,978 to £73,997 per annum

Location: 1 Park Square West, London, NW1 4LJ (Baker Street and Regents Park stations) – this role offers a hybrid working approach.

Key Duties:

  • Lead and manage the Patient Safety Team, providing professional guidance and support.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in patient safety, advising clinical teams and senior leadership.
  • Oversee the implementation of The London Clinic\’s strategy and plan for patient safety, ensuring alignment with best practices.
  • Oversee incident management processes, ensuring high-quality investigations and timely reporting.
  • Facilitate 72-hour rapid reviews for serious incidents and support external reporting and duty of candour.
  • Promote a culture of learning, ensuring lessons from incidents are shared and embedded within clinical teams.
  • Develop and maintain patient safety policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Analyse patient safety data, track trends, and report findings to governance committees.

What We\’re Looking For

  • Professional Registration : NMC, GMC, HCPC, or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least six months of PSIRF implementation or similar patient safety frameworks.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to manage a team and drive patient safety initiatives.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret patient safety data and provide insights.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Strong communication and influencing skills across all levels.
  • IT Proficiency: Familiarity with incident management systems (e.g. Datix) and Microsoft Office.

Desirable:

  • Postgraduate qualification in healthcare governance or patient safety.
  • Training in PSIRF or Patient Safety Incident Investigation (PSII).
  • Experience with CQC regulation and accreditation frameworks (e.g., JACIE, CHKS, JAG).
