Information Governance Officer

Overview
Join our friendly Information Governance team at The London Clinic, supporting the day‑to‑day running of our data protection and compliance work. You will manage routine admin tasks, act as a helpful point of contact for staff, follow up on outstanding actions and prepare papers for meetings.
Responsibilities
- Carry out routine spot checks and maintain accurate records relating to data protection processes.
- Support colleagues with clinical and non‑clinical data protection procedures.
- Monitor for security incidents, log incidents and ensure updates are recorded.
- Maintain day‑to‑day records of queries and response times to identify trends and drive efficiencies.
- Provide secretariat functions for the Information Governance Committee and other sub‑groups, including scheduling meetings, chasing actions, building agendas and monitoring reports.
- Implement IG policies and procedures, providing first‑line advice across the organisation.
- Enter and manage data for training, SARS, breach management and other records, ensuring GDPR deadlines are met.
- Assist with compliance activities such as audits, DPIAs, retention and training schedules.
- Act as the first point of contact for incident reporting, escalation and record set‑up.
- Support the maintenance and monitoring of the IG Risk Register and follow up associated actions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in an information governance, compliance or records‑management role, ideally within healthcare or a regulated environment.
- Proficient in MS Office.
- Strong understanding of UK GDPR, DPA 20020208 and Human Rights Act 1998, and how these apply in practice.
- Excellent organisational, planning and time‑management skills with the ability to meet targets and deadlines.
- High attention to detail and ability to produce accurate, complete documentation and reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to engage with staff across the organisation.
- Confidence in communicating with diverse teams and fostering a positive, approachable IG reputation.
