A leading Build to Rent property company is seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Operative to join its on-site team at a high-quality residential scheme in North Acton. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on maintenance professional who takes pride in their work and enjoys delivering a first-class living experience for residents.
The Role
As Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for providing efficient, responsive, and preventative maintenance services across the property. You will play a key role in ensuring the building is safe, well maintained, and compliant with all relevant health and safety standards, while delivering excellent customer service at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out day-to-day reactive and planned maintenance tasks
- Conduct regular building inspections and health & safety checks
- Complete fire alarm testing, emergency lighting checks, water hygiene monitoring and related compliance tasks
- Liaise with and monitor contractors to ensure work is completed to a high standard
- Log, track and manage maintenance issues accurately
- Maintain statutory records including gas safety, PAT testing, fixed wiring and other compliance documentation
- Interact professionally and courteously with residents, recognising the property as their home
- Support wider site operations when required, including basic administrative or reception cover
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in general building maintenance (electrical, plumbing or joinery)
- A relevant trade qualification (desirable but not essential)
- Strong understanding of health & safety legislation
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload independently
- Confident communicator with a customer-focused approach
- Comfortable using basic IT systems such as Outlook, Word and Excel
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday: 8am–5pm or 9am–6pm; 1 in 3 Saturdays (8am–5pm) on a rota basis. When a Saturday is worked, a Friday off in lieu is provided the following week. Additional hours may be required during peak summer periods.
