The overall purpose of the Business Development Manager role is to identify potential opportunities across categories and cross brand and to achieve targets set by Category Sales Managers and deliver on the set KPIs. This is working for a high-end Bathroom retail business in Waterloo London.
Role Accountabilities:
- To achieve targets set by Category Sales Manager and deliver on the set KPIs.
- Ensure branches are stocked in the category products in line with the potential demand.
- To identify potential opportunities across categories and cross brand and engage appropriate personnel.
- To identify product knowledge training requirements within our teams.
- Identify and develop new and existing accounts to maximise growth.
- Work closely with KAMs to develop customer mix in relation to your targeted product category growth.
- Drive a strong branch marketing and merchandising agenda across your targeted networks.
- Seek & retain the engagement of the network and branch teams.
- Be flexible in approach – able to adapt style to suit differing situations and customers.
- To have a strong customer service ethic.
- To be the single point of contact for the category.
- To manage growth of a customer base, understand their needs and propose solutions as they arise.
- To be able to react to customer demand and change and adjust and expand our offer as needed.
- Identifying sales opportunities for other categories and engage the appropriate CSM.
- Maintaining & retaining accounts in addition to securing new accounts.
Relationships:
- Reports directly to the Area Sales Manager.
- Interaction with Head Office marketing and other support services.
Must have 5 years sales experience, within construction or site contract sales. £50k plus com. Can earn additional 35K OTE with company CAR.
