The Head of Legal will play a pivotal role in overseeing all legal matters within the organisation. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills who can provide sound legal advice while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Advertised pay is equivalent full time – hours to be agreed and pay pro rata

Duties

  • Lead the legal department, providing guidance and support on all legal issues affecting the organisation.

  • Analyse complex legal documents, contracts, and agreements to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance legal compliance across the organisation.

  • Collaborate with various departments to provide legal insights that support business objectives.

  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel and oversee litigation matters as necessary.

  • Conduct training sessions for staff on relevant legal topics to promote awareness and understanding of legal obligations.

  • Stay updated on changes in legislation that may impact the organisation’s operations.

  • A qualified solicitor or barrister with significant experience in corporate law or a related field.

  • Proven ability to analyse complex legal issues and provide clear, actionable advice.

  • Strong administrative skills with a keen attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Excellent organisational skills, capable of prioritising workloads effectively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated customer service skills, with the ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information clearly and persuasively.
