About the role
The Power Platform Pre-Sales Consultant is a hands‑on technical pre-sales role within the AI Business Solutions Pre-Sales team.
The primary focus is Power Platform, alongside Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement, to support the Pre‑Sales team with Power Platform expertise - customer‑facing solutioning, broader innovation within the Microsoft ecosystem and the ability to build proof of concept solutions for demos.
With AI Business Applications each Pre‑Sales Consultant brings a distinct specialism, and in this role it’s to covers apps, automation, portals, agents, and the integration that connects them.
That means owning the Power Platform elements of engagements, being the person Sales and the delivery Practices come to on how Node4 pitches and sells Power Platform, and keeping the rest of the Pre‑Sales team informed to be able to position it credibly.
It is a build role as well as a consulting one.
The person suited to it is able to build demonstrations, proofs of concept, and reusable assets themselves - for Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement opportunities, for standalone Power Platform solutions, and occasionally for Business Central opportunities where Power Platform extends the solution.
- Pre‑Sales Engagement
- Own the Power Platform elements of pre‑sales engagements across Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement opportunities, standalone Power Platform opportunities, and Business Central opportunities where Power Platform extends the solution
- Run discovery sessions and requirements workshops, and translate what is heard into a credible solution that meets customer requirements rather than just a feature list
- Design and deliver tailored solution demonstrations to business and technical audiences, taking a customer requirement through to something the customer recognises as their own process
- Provide Power Platform input to proposals, bid responses, and estimates
- Advise on Power Platform environment strategy, governance, and licensing where these shape either the solution or the commercial position
- Development and Demo Environments
- Build demonstrations, prototypes, and proofs of concept directly: canvas and model‑driven Power Apps, Power Automate flows, Dataverse solutions, Copilot Studio agents, and Power Pages portals - including externally‑facing customer and partner portal scenarios over Dynamics 365 CE data
- Build and maintain the Power Platform elements of the demo estate - environments, sample data, lifecycle management, and reference scenarios - keeping it current with the Microsoft release cadence
- Develop custom connectors and integrations where a demonstration or proof of concept needs to reach Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365, or third‑party systems
- Package demo assets and reference patterns so other members of the Pre‑Sales team can utilise them with limited support
- Track Power Platform and Copilot release waves, prototype what matters, and maintain a clear view of what is genuinely demo‑ready and what is not
- Power Platform Enablement
- Act as the Pre‑Sales team's reference point on Power Platform, and the person Sales and the delivery Practices come to on what is possible and what is feasible
- Shape how Node4 pitches and sells Power Platform - where it leads, where it extends Dynamics 365, and where it should not be proposed
- Identify Power Platform opportunities within existing CRM and BC engagements rather than responding only where the customer raises it
- Run internal enablement for the Pre‑Sales and Sales teams, so the wider function can position Power Platform credibly without requiring you be in the room
- Contribute to marketing activity - webinars, wave release sessions, and product content
- Collaboration and Handover
- Collaborate with other members of the presales team to jointly execute opportunities, design, develop and maintain presales solutions and collateral
- Collaborate with sales and marketing teams across Node4 to position us as a mid‑market Microsoft technology leader
- Act as the link between Sales and the delivery Practices on Power Platform opportunities, attending handovers and project kick‑offs where Pre‑Sales has shaped the solution
- Work in close partnership with the CRM and Power Platform delivery Practices so anything demonstrated is aligned with how the Practice would actually deliver it
- Maintain source control, documentation, and handover notes so assets can be supported, extended, or productised without dependency on one person
- Keep engagement records and activity current in CRM
What will you bring?
- 5+ years of hands‑on Microsoft Power Platform experience, gained in a consultancy, Microsoft Partner, ISV, or comparable delivery environment
- A demonstrable record of building Power Platform solutions
- Experience of Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement – Sales, Customer Service, or the wider CE suite
- Customer‑facing experience through workshops, requirements sessions, demonstrations, or design reviews, and a track record of owning the solution
- Either proven pre‑sales experience, or a customer‑facing technical consulting background that has included pre‑sales involvement and a clear appetite to move into the discipline full time
- Microsoft certifications relevant to the role (PL-200, PL-400, MB-280) desirable; demonstrable equivalent experience considered
Skills
- Hands‑on development capability across the
- Power
Platform: canvas and model‑driven Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Power Pages, and Copilot Studio – able to build a working solution, not only specify one
- Power Pages (Power Apps Portals) specifically – building externally‑facing sites over Dataverse, including authentication, security and table permissions, and page and form design
- Dataverse data modelling and solution design, including solution management and environment strategy
- Comfortable with REST APIs, JSON, and OAuth authentication flows, and able to build custom connectors and integrations between Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365, and third‑party systems
- Working understanding of Power Platform governance, ALM, and licensing models
- A solutioning mindset – turn a requirement into a credible solution, knowing the difference between what the platform can do and what should be pragmatically proposed
- Able to explain a solution in business terms to a non‑technical audience and in technical terms to an IT audience, without changing the proposition
- Confident presenting to a room, including senior customer stakeholders
- Self‑directed – manages a mixed workload of live opportunity work, demo estate development, and prototyping without close supervision
- Curious by default – actively keeps up with Microsoft release waves and emerging platform capability
- Collaborative – shares work in progress, accepts review, and hands assets off cleanly
What can we offer you?
- Access to Microsoft certification funding covering qualifications relevant to the role – PL-400, PL-600, MB-280, AI-102, and others as the platform evolves
- Close working relationships with the CRM, Power Platform, and Data & AI delivery Practices, building platform knowledge beyond the pre‑sales context
