About the role
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Finance Business Partner & FP&A Manager is a senior finance role responsible for driving Node4’s group-wide budgeting and forecasting processes and for providing high-quality financial planning and analysis (FP&A) across the group.
The role acts as a trusted business partner to the heads of Node4’s central functions, owns the group’s three-year plan (3YP) forecasting model, and delivers cross-group analysis that informs strategic and operational decision‑making at the most senior levels of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Group budgeting & forecasting
- Lead, coordinate and run the group-wide annual budgeting process end to end, working with budget holders across the business to build robust, well-supported plans.
- Own the periodic reforecasting cycle, ensuring forecasts are timely, accurate and clearly reconciled to budget and prior forecasts.
- Establish and maintain consistent planning templates, timetables, assumptions and governance so that budgeting and forecasting run efficiently across all group entities.
- Consolidate group submissions, challenge inputs constructively, and present clear variance analysis and commentary to the Finance Director and CFO.
- Business partnering to central functions
- Act as the primary finance business partner to the heads of the group’s central functions, building strong, trusted working relationships.
- Support function heads in managing their cost bases, understanding financial performance, and making well-informed decisions on spend and investment.
- Translate financial information into clear, actionable insight for non‑finance stakeholders, and hold constructive challenge on performance against budget and forecast.
- Support business cases, headcount planning and investment appraisals for central functions.
- Group-wide FP&A
- Provide FP&A support for analysis that reaches across the group, bringing together data from multiple entities and functions into a coherent group view.
- Deliver insightful analysis on performance, trends, drivers and risks and opportunities to support strategic and operational decisions.
- Develop and maintain reporting, KPIs and management information that give leadership a clear, consistent picture of group performance.
- Support ad-hoc analysis and modelling for the CFO, Finance Director and wider leadership team, including scenario and sensitivity analysis.
- Ownership of the 3-Year Plan (3YP) model
- Own, maintain and continuously develop the group’s three‑year plan (3YP) forecasting model, ensuring it is accurate, robust and fit for purpose.
- Ensure the model integrates the group’s budgets, forecasts and strategic assumptions and produces a fully linked view of the income statement, balance sheet and cash flow where appropriate.
- Run scenario and sensitivity analysis through the model to support strategic planning, board reporting and investor discussions.
- Safeguard the integrity, version control and documentation of the model so it remains a reliable single source of truth for long‑range planning.
What will you bring?
Essential
- Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA).
- Significant experience of finance business partnering, including working closely with senior, non‑finance stakeholders.
- Significant experience of budgeting and forecasting, ideally at group or multi‑entity level.
- Strong financial modelling skills, with the ability to build, own and develop complex, multi‑year models.
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large volumes of financial data.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to turn complex data into clear, decision‑ready insight.
- Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the credibility to challenge and influence at a senior level.
Desirable
- Experience within a group or private‑equity‑backed environment.
- Experience of long‑range / strategic planning and three-year plan modelling.
- Experience with modern FP&A, consolidation or planning tools.
- Sector experience relevant to Node4 (technology, IT or managed services).
