Role Overview

As a Senior Process Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading and supporting process engineering projects, from small‑scale calculations to large‑scale FEED (Front‑End Engineering Design) and detailed design projects.

You will ensure the delivery of high‑quality solutions that meet industry standards and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support process engineering projects, ensuring timely and high‑quality delivery.
  • Author, review, and approve process engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with industry and internal standards.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams to develop accurate proposals and man‑hour estimates.
  • Interact with customers to deliver tailored solutions that meet their needs and expectations.
  • Contribute to the development of TÜV’s portfolio, focusing on Energy Transition and Net Zero initiatives.
  • Network and share best practices across teams and disciplines.
  • Deliver training courses to external clients, such as Pressure Relief.
  • Mentor and guide graduate and junior engineers to enhance team capabilities.

Requirements

• Essential

  • Degree in Process Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in process engineering.
  • Proficiency in pressure relief calculations using API standards.
  • Experience in process system design, including hydraulic calculations, P&ID development, and process modeling.
  • Strong knowledge of simulation software (e. g., Aspen Suite).

• Desirable

  • Chartered Chemical Engineer status.
  • Professional consulting experience or similar relevant experience in advising and delivering technical solutions.
  • Operational and design experience, preferably on operating sites.
  • Familiarity with TUV proprietary software (PEL & CAPRE).
  • Experience in Energy Transition and Net Zero initiatives (e. g., CCUS, hydrogen, fuel switching).
  • Knowledge of HAZOP, LOPA, and SIL methodologies.
  • Experience in designing discharge and disposal systems for chemical plants.

• Other Requirements

  • Full clean driving license.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally.
  • Good IT proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong consultancy, communication, and interpersonal skills.
