Requirements
- Integrity assessment of defective power plant components – low and high temperature (e. g. reverse code calculation, fracture mechanics, finite element analysis).
- Legislative compliance e. g. the UK PSSR.
- Power plant inspection (e. g. steam and water pressure parts, boiler tube surveys, support surveys), with an understanding of materials selection, damage/degradation mechanisms and life assessment.
- Power plant mechanical engineering.
- Power plant operations and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Delivering power plant integrity assessments.
- Assisting in developing risk‑based inspection strategies.
- Providing technical support and advice to clients.
- Assessing inspection results, i. e. making run / repair / replace decisions.
- Producing formal technical reports and other project deliverables on time and to budget.
- Creating proposals and tender return documents and developing new business.
- Maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of standards, legislation and good practice.
Qualifications and experience
- BEng Degree or equivalent in engineering related topic, preferably mechanical engineering.
- Incorporated Engineer or working towards professional registration is desirable.
- Minimum of 3 – 5 years of relevant experience.
