Requirements

  • Integrity assessment of defective power plant components – low and high temperature (e. g. reverse code calculation, fracture mechanics, finite element analysis).
  • Legislative compliance e. g. the UK PSSR.
  • Power plant inspection (e. g. steam and water pressure parts, boiler tube surveys, support surveys), with an understanding of materials selection, damage/degradation mechanisms and life assessment.
  • Power plant mechanical engineering.
  • Power plant operations and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering power plant integrity assessments.
  • Assisting in developing risk‑based inspection strategies.
  • Providing technical support and advice to clients.
  • Assessing inspection results, i. e. making run / repair / replace decisions.
  • Producing formal technical reports and other project deliverables on time and to budget.
  • Creating proposals and tender return documents and developing new business.
  • Maintaining up‑to‑date knowledge of standards, legislation and good practice.

Qualifications and experience

  • BEng Degree or equivalent in engineering related topic, preferably mechanical engineering.
  • Incorporated Engineer or working towards professional registration is desirable.
  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of relevant experience.
