Inspection Engineer CAT 2 Full time permanent position TÜV Rheinland is a leading provider of technical services worldwide.

Job Summary As part of the TUV family, TUV Rheinland Industrial Services (TRIS) are looking to recruit Inspection Engineers for the UK.

We are seeking experenced CAT 2 inspectors to join our growing Industrial team to provide Inspection and Certification of pressurised static equipment e. g. vessels, tanks, piping, relief devices, to meet regulatory and client requirements.

The position will bein Dalry, reporting into our Falkirk office.

Job Description

  • Preparing and reviewing Written Schemes of Examination (WSE)
  • Identifying preparation requirements from the WSE
  • Examination in accordance with the WSE
  • Undertaking simple NDT – ultrasonic thickness checks, magnetic particle, dye penetrant
  • Coordination of NDT providers for extensive requirements or specialist methods,
  • Preparation of clear reports including photographs
  • Assessment of deterioration
  • Reviewing design calculations and sentencing defects
  • Coordinating repairs.
  • Participation in Risk Based Inspection studies Education / Certificates
  • HNC/Degree Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Incorporated Engineer status (desirable) Experience & Skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Eye for detail
  • Ability to accurately follow procedures
  • Understanding of engineering principles
  • Able to make and defend difficult decisions
  • Ability to interact and work with others
  • Mechanical Engineering background
  • Chemical and/or oil and gas sector experience (desirable)
  • Understanding of fabrication or repair of pressure equipment (desirable)
  • Experience of non-destructive examination techniques (desirable)
