Overview
We are seeking an experienced Security Architect to support the design, implementation, and governance of secure technology platforms within a fast-paced financial services environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background working with leading digital banks or fintech organisations such as Monzo, Starling, Revolut, or similar high-growth financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain security architecture standards across cloud-native platforms and customer-facing applications.
- Partner with engineering, infrastructure, and product teams to embed security-by-design principles throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Conduct threat modelling, security reviews, and risk assessments for new products and services.
- Design secure architectures across AWS, GCP, or Azure environments, including IAM, network security, encryption, and monitoring controls.
- Support compliance with financial services regulations, operational resilience requirements, and security frameworks.
- Provide technical leadership on application security, cloud security, DevSecOps, and identity management initiatives.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Security Architect within banking, fintech, or regulated financial services.
- Background working for digital-first organisations such as Monzo, Starling, Revolut, or similar.
- Strong expertise in cloud security (AWS preferred), application security, and modern architecture patterns.
- Experience with threat modelling, security governance, and risk management frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior technical and business leaders.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, SABSA, AWS Security Specialty, or equivalent are advantageous.
