My client, a Crypto specialist, is looking for a Head of Legal and Business Operations to lead legal, regulatory, and operational functions across a growing digital asset investment firm. This is a senior, cross-functional role reporting directly to the COO, driving fund governance, compliance, deal structuring, and strategic execution. You’ll collaborate closely with leadership and external partners to ensure institutional-grade precision as the firm scales globally.
Responsibilities
- Legal & Compliance
- Advise on legal and regulatory aspects of product development and cross-jurisdictional structuring.
- Manage regulatory licensing and oversee compliance across sales, marketing, product, and communications.
- Challenge and support commercial deal structuring and negotiation.
- Handle legal entity governance, restructurings, IP protection, and data privacy compliance.
- Oversee supplier contracts and external counsel relationships to ensure alignment with company standards.
- Business Operations
- Partner with the C-suite to drive strategic initiatives and operational excellence.
- Lead organisational design, process improvement, training, and business continuity efforts.
- Maintain internal policies and compliance frameworks.
- Oversee recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
- Embed the strategic agenda into firm-wide off-sites and communications.
- Information Security
- Ensure information security policies evolve with the firm’s growth and emerging threats.
- Manage security vendors, audits, and remediation processes.
- Enhance awareness and compliance across teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of legal and operations experience within crypto, asset management, or financial services.
- Qualified lawyer or equivalent senior legal experience.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations across multiple jurisdictions (FCA, SEC, MiCA, offshore fund regimes).
- Proven experience with legal entity structuring, fund governance, and cross-border operations.
- Skilled in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Familiarity with data privacy, IP protection, and information security practices.
- Experience engaging with regulators and managing external counsel.
- Ability to manage compliance programs and vendor relationships effectively.
