**Job Specification: Technology Project Manager**

Overview

My client is seeking an experienced Technology Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex digital and technology initiatives for major clients in the travel industry . The ideal candidate will combine strong project leadership skills with deep sector expertise across airlines, airports, travel services, or travel technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of technology projects, including digital transformation, platform modernisation, systems integration, data/analytics, and cloud initiatives.
  • Manage project scope, plans, budgets, risk/issue logs, and governance in line with consultancy standards.
  • Build strong client relationships and operate as a trusted delivery partner.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams across business, technology, vendor, and offshore delivery groups.
  • Ensure project outcomes align with client strategic goals and industry best practices.
  • Prepare and present status reports, governance packs, and delivery updates to senior stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement, quality control, and delivery excellence across all workstreams.

Required Experience

  • Proven track record as a Technology Project Manager within a consultancy or complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
  • Travel industry experience is essential , with solid understanding of core domain areas such as:
  • Airline operations (PSS, DCS, reservations, scheduling)
  • Airport systems
  • Travel booking platforms or GDS
  • Customer experience and digital journeys in travel
  • Baggage, disruption management, loyalty systems, or ancillary sales
  • Experience delivering technology transformation programmes using Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.
  • Strong vendor, third-party, and offshore team management.
  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, risks, and governance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and client-facing skills.

Desired Skills & Certifications

  • PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, SAFe, or similar certifications.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience in data/analytics, API integration, or legacy-to-digital modernisation.
  • Consultancy mindset with strong problem-solving and presentation capabilities.
