About Us
Risk Ledger is developing a network of connected organisations, all working together to defend against cybersecurity attacks in the supply chain.
Organisations rely on us to establish trust through sharing security maturity and visualising the risks posed by their supply chain ecosystem.
We are trusted by customers such as ASOS, British Airways, BAE Systems and the NHS.
This role
This role combines Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, Developer Experience, and Dev Sec Ops.
Working alongside the wider team, you will build and maintain the foundational systems, tools, and practices that enable our engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable software efficiently.
You will be hands‑on across the stack, managing multiple priorities and operating at varying levels of detail.
- In the role you will
- Build and maintain scalable, resilient cloud infrastructure across our products and supporting services in AWS (primary) and GCP using Terraform and container orchestration on ECS/EKS, while improving observability, reliability, and performance.
- Accelerate product delivery by building pipelines, tooling, and internal platforms that enable fast, safe, automated delivery, reducing friction across the delivery lifecycle.
- Improve developer experience through self‑service tooling and standardisation, building frameworks, tools, and golden paths that streamline workflows and promote best practices.
- Support reliability and scalability through SRE principles, participating in incident response, defining and monitoring SLI/SLO/SLAs, and optimising systems for availability, resilience, performance, and cost.
- Embed security across the engineering lifecycle by integrating shift‑left security practices into CI/CD pipelines, managing secrets and credentials, and enforcing compliance through automated policies.
- Contribute to a strong security posture by monitoring, triaging, and responding to security events, and supporting continuous vulnerability scanning, dependency management, and threat modelling.
- Move fast while maintaining a high quality bar through testing, automation, discipline, and best practice, balancing pragmatism and cost‑benefit analysis.
- Share knowledge, support junior engineers, and grow technical and architectural skills with the team.
- Occasionally support our AI/ML platform tooling (e. g., Vertex AI on GCP, AWS Bedrock, and LLM observability tooling such as Langfuse).
- You'll have
- Experience in engineering teams building customer‑focused Saa S products and delivering value while maintaining technical excellence.
- 4+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, SRE, or Dev Ops roles.
- Strong working knowledge of AWS and/or GCP, managed services, and infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform.
- Proficiency in containerisation and orchestration (ECS, Kubernetes, or similar).
- Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages (Go, Type Script/Java Script, Python, Bash), with a software engineering background a major plus.
- Experience building or maintaining CI/CD systems (Git Hub Actions preferred, Argo CD, etc.).
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, and logging stacks (Grafana stack: Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, and Open Telemetry).
- Working understanding of networking and distributed systems.
- Working understanding of security and an interest in Dev Sec Ops.
- Ability to work through ambiguity and tackle problems that are not always well defined.
- Curiosity, drive to learn, grow, and a passion for collaborative teamwork.
- You might have
- Knowledge of policy‑as‑code.
- Familiarity with supply chain security.
- Exposure to cost optimisation and Fin Ops practices.
- Experience with internal developer platforms or portal tooling (e. g., Backstage, Get Port).
- Exposure to LLM observability or evaluation tooling (e. g., Langfuse).
- Salary
