We're working with a growing manufacturing business in East Lothian who are looking to appoint a dynamic and personable Supply Chain Manager to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of the end-to-end supply chain while working cross-functionally with multiple departments in a fast-paced environment. Please note – this is initially a 6-month FTC with a view of going permanent.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, can build strong internal and external relationships, and enjoys being at the centre of operations. You will be responsible for overseeing the full supply chain function, ensuring smooth coordination across planning, procurement, logistics, and facilities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Work closely with the sales team to analyse stock levels, order demand, and forecasts.
- Manage short- and medium-term production planning to meet customer needs.
- Oversee procurement of raw materials and packaging using MRP systems.
- Negotiate supplier contracts and manage ongoing relationships.
- Ensure materials are delivered on time, in full, and to specification.
- Develop and implement effective logistics strategies.
- Track shipments and manage inventory levels.
- Ensure timely delivery to both production and customers.
- Drive performance, engagement and continuous improvement.
About You
We're looking for a hands-on, adaptable and people-focused individual who can operate confidently across departments and influence at all levels. You will have:
- Proven experience in supply chain, planning and inventory management, confident and natural leader.
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A natural ability to problem solve and make decisions in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong organisational and leadership skills.
- Advanced IT skills, including experience with MRP/ERP systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
