The Role
As the site's primary Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of a wide range of manufacturing equipment. Working alongside an experienced Mechanical Engineer, you'll take ownership of electrical maintenance activities while supporting ongoing improvements and future investment projects.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical faults across manufacturing equipment.
- Fault finding on electrical control panels and control systems.
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown repairs.
- Supporting installation and commissioning of new machinery and production equipment.
- Installing and modifying electrical supplies, distribution boards and infrastructure.
- Assisting with continuous improvement and reliability projects.
- Supporting the implementation of a new CMMS maintenance system, including equipment asset management.
- Participating in an occasional on-call rota for critical breakdowns.
About You
We're looking for an electrically biased maintenance engineer who enjoys fault finding, takes ownership of their work and is keen to continue developing their skills. You'll ideally have:
- Time-served Electrical Apprenticeship.
- Strong electrical maintenance experience within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- 17th or 18th Edition qualification.
- Good knowledge of BS7671 Wiring Regulations.
- Excellent electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience reading electrical drawings and control schematics.
- Basic PLC knowledge (training and development will be provided).
- Some mechanical maintenance experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Confidence working independently and managing your own workload.
- Willingness to work at height when required (training provided).
