Rising Talent Recruitment is recruiting for an Engineering Manager to join a large, continuously running industrial plant. The business is a long-established manufacturer, operating in a demanding, high-risk environment. Significant investment has been made, the future is strong, and engineering is central to where the business goes next. This role is about leadership, reliability, and presence on the shop floor. You will take full ownership of the engineering function across a large, multi-disciplinary team in a reactive environment that now needs structure, stability, and direction.
What You’ll Be Responsible For:
- Leading and developing a large engineering team across mechanical, electrical, utilities, projects and facilities
- Being highly visible in the plant, especially during breakdowns and critical events
- Owning reactive, preventative and predictive maintenance strategies
- Driving root cause analysis, downtime reduction and OEE improvement
- Full responsibility for utilities including steam and large boiler systems, compressed air, water and vacuum systems
- Managing Capex projects, shutdowns, refurbishments and upgrades
- Budget ownership, spares strategy and contractor management
- Using data, KPIs and trends to balance uptime, cost and long-term asset health
- Liaising daily with production, quality, H&S and wider site leadership
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience leading engineering in a heavy industrial or continuous manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical and electrical background
- Proven experience in reactive, high-pressure operations
- Experience with steam and large boiler systems
- Comfortable working hands-on in challenging environments
- Credible leader who earns respect on the shop floor
