Ready to own your category and make a real commercial impact? We're working with an established manufacturing and engineering business in Falkirk that's looking to add an experienced Commodity Buyer to its procurement team. Please note - this role is a 12 month FTC.

This isn't a role where you'll simply be raising purchase orders. You'll take ownership of your own commodity portfolio, develop sourcing strategies, negotiate with suppliers, drive cost reduction initiatives and play a key part in improving supplier performance across the business. If you enjoy building supplier relationships, influencing commercial decisions and working closely with engineering and operations teams, this is a fantastic opportunity to make your mark.

  • Taking full ownership of a defined commodity portfolio.
  • Developing and implementing commodity strategies aligned to business objectives.
  • Leading sourcing activities, RFQs and supplier tenders.
  • Negotiating commercial agreements and delivering measurable cost savings.
  • Monitoring market trends and commodity pricing to identify opportunities.
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Managing supplier performance through KPIs and scorecards.
  • Identifying and onboarding new suppliers to improve competitiveness and reduce risk.
  • Working cross-functionally with engineering, operations and other key business functions.

What we're looking for:

  • Around 3+ years' experience in a commodity buying, strategic purchasing or procurement role.
  • Strong experience within manufacturing, engineering or a similar technical environment.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and driving performance improvements.
