Are you passionate about continuous improvement, process optimisation and driving operational excellence within manufacturing? Nairn's Oatcakes, one of Scotland's most recognised and respected food manufacturers, is looking for a Process Improvement Technologist to join its growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in improving manufacturing performance, reducing waste, enhancing quality, and supporting innovation across two production sites.
Working closely with the NPD Manager and cross-functional teams, you'll be at the heart of process improvement initiatives, helping to develop best practice, improve process control, and deliver projects that make a measurable difference to the business.
What You'll Be Doing
- Coordinate and maintain process improvement work instructions across manufacturing operations.
- Ensure process control specifications and centre lines are maintained and optimised.
- Support continuous improvement activities, including waste reduction, efficiency improvements and root cause analysis.
- Collect, analyse and interpret manufacturing data to drive decision making and KPI improvements.
- Facilitate workshops and problem-solving activities with operational teams.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, Technical, Quality, Supply Chain and NPD teams.
- Support capital investment and new product development projects.
- Provide troubleshooting support and help develop operator capability through coaching and training.
What We're Looking For
- Experience within a fast-paced FMCG or food manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies and root cause analysis techniques.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present complex data.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence and engage colleagues at all levels of the business.
- Organised, proactive and driven, with the determination to see projects through to completion.
