Rising Hope Education are proud to be supporting a warm, inclusive primary school in Bethnal Green, Tower Hamlets, who are seeking a committed and experienced Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated one-to-one support for a Reception-aged pupil with complex needs. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in a child’s journey into full-time education. The pupil is currently attending school on a part-time basis for a few hours each day, with a carefully planned transition into full-time attendance over the next four weeks.
The Role
- You will be working one-to-one with a non-verbal pupil in Reception, supporting their communication, engagement and emotional regulation within the classroom environment.
- During the initial transition period, when the child is not in school, you will:
- Prepare tailored resources and learning materials
- Support within other classrooms across the school
- Work closely with staff to ensure consistency and readiness for the child’s increasing timetable
You Will Be
- Providing consistent one-to-one support for a non-verbal child
- Using communication strategies such as visual aids and sensory approaches
- Supporting emotional regulation and engagement
- Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
- Creating a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment
What We Are Looking For
- Background working with Autism and/or complex needs (Experience Supporting Children Who Are Non-verbal Is Essential)
- A calm, patient and proactive approach
- Strong understanding of communication and sensory strategies
- A genuine passion for SEND and inclusive education
