Rising Hope Education are proud to be supporting a warm, inclusive primary school in Bethnal Green, Tower Hamlets, who are seeking a committed and experienced Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated one-to-one support for a Reception-aged pupil with complex needs. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in a child’s journey into full-time education. The pupil is currently attending school on a part-time basis for a few hours each day, with a carefully planned transition into full-time attendance over the next four weeks.

The Role

  • You will be working one-to-one with a non-verbal pupil in Reception, supporting their communication, engagement and emotional regulation within the classroom environment.
  • During the initial transition period, when the child is not in school, you will:
  • Prepare tailored resources and learning materials
  • Support within other classrooms across the school
  • Work closely with staff to ensure consistency and readiness for the child’s increasing timetable
  • As the pupil transitions into full-time education, you will become their dedicated one-to-one support, helping them access learning, build routine and develop key life skills.
  • You Will Be

    • Providing consistent one-to-one support for a non-verbal child
    • Using communication strategies such as visual aids and sensory approaches
    • Supporting emotional regulation and engagement
    • Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals
    • Creating a safe, structured and nurturing learning environment

    What We Are Looking For

    • Background working with Autism and/or complex needs (Experience Supporting Children Who Are Non-verbal Is Essential)
    • A calm, patient and proactive approach
    • Strong understanding of communication and sensory strategies
    • A genuine passion for SEND and inclusive education
