Agency: Rising Hope Education – Staffing with Heart, Supporting with Purpose

Rising Hope Education is seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to provide targeted support for a Year 5 pupil with an EHCP in a welcoming primary school environment. This is a rewarding role supporting a bright and articulate pupil who benefits from structured learning, consistent boundaries, and a calm, understanding adult presence.

About The Role

You will be supporting a Year 5 female pupil who has an EHCP relating to SEMH, medical needs, and dyslexia, and is currently awaiting ASC and ADHD assessments. Your role will involve delivering structured learning interventions and providing support within small-group learning environments.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Delivering dyslexia-friendly, platform-based interventions
  • Supporting reading, comprehension, and literacy development
  • Delivering Precision Teaching for phonics and maths
  • Providing consistent emotional support and structure
  • Encouraging engagement and confidence in learning
  • Supporting the pupil in small group classroom activities

About The Pupil

The pupil is fully articulate and independent with all self-care skills. At times she may appear argumentative, rude, or defiant, particularly when she feels unsure or overwhelmed. She can find it challenging to build trusting relationships with adults, so the right candidate will need to demonstrate patience, consistency, and emotional intelligence. Importantly, she does not display person-directed behaviours.

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Have experience supporting pupils with SEMH, dyslexia, or additional needs
  • Be confident delivering structured interventions
  • Have a calm, firm but nurturing approach
  • Be resilient and able to build trust through consistency
  • Be passionate about helping children re-engage with learning
