Rising Hope Education is recruiting an Autism & Communication Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in East London from September.

You'll work within a Year 4 class, supporting children with autism and associated communication, sensory and emotional regulation needs.

We're looking for somebody who gets SEND.

Someone who understands that a child becoming dysregulated, withdrawing or refusing an activity isn't necessarily simply being "difficult".

Instead, You're Willing To Ask

What is this child trying to communicate?

You'll support pupils with their communication, structured learning, sensory needs, emotional regulation, transitions, social development and independence.

You may also gain exposure to different approaches to communication and autism support, including visual communication, AAC, Makaton, Attention Autism and Intensive Interaction.

You don't necessarily need to arrive knowing all of these approaches.

You need to want to learn them.
