Looking for a rewarding SEND role where no two days are the same? Rising Hope Education is proud to be supporting a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in the Dagenham area that is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for the entire academic year, with a strong possibility of a permanent position for the right candidate.
Unlike many 1:1 roles, this position offers variety and the opportunity to work across the school's SEND provision, supporting a range of children with differing needs from Year 1 through to Year 6.
The Role
The school operates a rotating SEND support model, meaning you'll work with a variety of pupils rather than being assigned to one child exclusively. You may support children with:
- Autism (ASC)
- ADHD
- Speech & Language needs
- Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Moderate learning difficulties
- Additional communication and sensory needs
Your responsibilities may include:
- Classroom support
- Small group interventions
- Behaviour and emotional regulation support
- Supporting learning and engagement
- Occasional personal care duties where required (minimal)
This role would suit someone who enjoys building relationships, adapting to different situations and making a genuine difference to children's lives.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience supporting children in schools, SEND settings, care environments or youth work
- A patient, resilient and proactive approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Commitment to a long-term role from September
Why Apply Through Rising Hope Education?
At Rising Hope Education, SEND is all we do. We are passionate about investing in our staff and supporting career development. Whether you're already experienced within SEND or looking to strengthen your skills, we can provide ongoing guidance, training and development opportunities throughout the year.
We are also working with several schools across Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Newham and Redbridge, meaning successful applicants may also be considered for alternative long-term opportunities if they better match their experience and career goals.
Trial Days
The school is keen to move quickly and is looking to arrange trial days from 29th June onwards, with interviews and decisions being made ahead of the summer break. If you're looking for a September role where you can make a real impact, develop your SEND experience and join a supportive school community, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today to arrange an informal conversation and secure a trial before the summer holidays.
