We are currently recruiting for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to support a high-profile, secure customer environment. This is a hands-on, operations-focused contract role working on critical infrastructure within a fast-paced and highly professional setting.
The Role
You will be responsible for the build, configuration, maintenance, and support of enterprise infrastructure, working across both physical and virtual environments. This role offers exposure to complex, secure platforms and the opportunity to work alongside experienced engineers on impactful projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, configure, patch, and maintain Windows and Linux servers
- Support virtualised environments (VMware / Hyper-V)
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, and core Microsoft services
- Perform system monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident resolution
- Support racking, deployment, and hardware lifecycle activities
- Document processes and contribute to automation initiatives
- Handle service requests efficiently within a structured support environment
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with Windows Server (physical & virtual)
- Working knowledge of Linux (RHEL preferred)
- Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware / Hyper-V)
- Familiarity with AD, DNS, Group Policy, and core infrastructure services
- Scripting experience (PowerShell and/or Bash)
- Solid troubleshooting skills with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
Desirable Experience
- SCCM / WSUS / Exchange
- Storage (SAN / NetApp / HPE)
- Backup technologies (e.g. Cohesity)
- Security tooling (e.g. Nessus, endpoint protection)
- MFA technologies (Smart Cards / Yubikey)
