Rise10 Recruitment are working in partnership with a well-established and growing UK business within the storage solutions and structural steel sector to recruit an experienced Design Engineer / Structural Detailer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded team, working on a variety of structural steel and mezzanine floor projects from concept through to installation. The role offers the chance to play a key part in delivering technically sound, high-quality designs within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Please note: Mezzanine floor and/or structural steel experience is essential for this role.
The Role:- As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the full design lifecycle, from initial concept and structural calculations through to detailed fabrication and installation drawings.
- Structural & Mezzanine Design: Interpret client requirements and produce compliant, practical design solutions.
- CAD & Modelling: Create accurate 2D drawings and 3D models using AutoCAD and Advance Steel.
- Fabrication Drawings: Produce detailed fabrication drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Installation Layouts: Develop clear and accurate installation drawings for site teams.
- Staircase Design: Design staircase solutions in line with current building regulations and British Standards.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams and clients to ensure project requirements are met.
- Site Surveys: Attend sites across the UK when required to carry out surveys and verify measurements.
- Documentation: Support wider project documentation and technical outputs.
We’re looking for a technically strong and detail-oriented Design Engineer who can confidently manage mezzanine-related projects.
- 3–5 years’ experience in a Design Engineer / Structural Detailer role.
- Mezzanine floor and/or structural steel experience is essential.
- Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Advance Steel.
- Ability to produce accurate models, fabrication drawings, and BOMs.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings and project specifications.
- A methodical and organised approach with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- The ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Multisuite MezzQUOTE & MezzDESIGN software.
- Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent).
- Salary up to £43,000 depending on experience.
- Fully office-based, Nottinghamshire.
