Operating extensively across the food, manufacturing, and energy generation sectors, they have built a strong reputation over nearly 30 years and are now seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing team.
The Role:
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality electrical design solutions. Using AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN, you will be responsible for producing accurate and compliant electrical documentation to support a wide range of automation projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce panel layouts and bills of materials (BOMs)
- Carry out LV distribution and cable calculations
- Create electrical schematic diagrams
- Develop instrument loop diagrams
- Produce PLC wiring diagrams and I/O schedules
- Design machinery safety circuits and complete risk assessments to BS EN ISO 13849 / 60261
- Compile and maintain technical documentation
About You:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Clean driving licence
- Ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Comfortable working to deadlines and under time constraints
- Strong ability to interpret electrical drawings
- Good understanding of industrial networks (Profibus, Profinet, etc.)
- Experience in safety systems design and programming is highly advantageous
- Knowledge of Siemens, Allen Bradley, or Mitsubishi PLCs preferred (training available for other systems)
- Experience working in an engineering environment
