Rise10 Recruitment is partnering with a growing robotics and automation business to recruit an experienced Robotic Service Engineer to join their UK field service team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong industrial robotics experience to work on a variety of customer sites, providing expert support across servicing, maintenance, fault finding, repairs, commissioning and optimisation of robotic automation systems.
The successful candidate will have proven experience working with ABB, FANUC or KUKA robots and be comfortable supporting customers across a range of manufacturing environments.
This is a UK-wide field-based role, requiring regular travel to customer sites, with a company van and tools provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on industrial robotic systems and associated automation equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve robotic, electrical, mechanical and software-related faults.
- Provide breakdown support to minimise customer downtime.
- Service and maintain ABB, FANUC and KUKA robotic systems.
- Support commissioning and re-commissioning activities following repairs, upgrades or system changes.
- Complete robot mastering, calibration, backups and system recovery.
- Troubleshoot robot controllers, servo systems, safety circuits, fieldbus networks and end-of-arm tooling.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and technical documentation.
- Complete accurate service reports and maintenance records following site visits.
- Provide professional technical support to customers both on-site and remotely.
- Identify opportunities for system improvements, upgrades and preventative maintenance.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.
- Participate in an on-call rota when required to support customer breakdowns.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience working with industrial robots within a service, maintenance or automation engineering environment.
- Strong experience with ABB, FANUC or KUKA robotic systems.
- Ability to fault find across electrical, mechanical and software-related systems.
- Experience supporting robot breakdowns, servicing and repairs.
- Good understanding of industrial automation systems and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout the UK, including occasional overnight stays.
- Experience with PLC systems such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley or Mitsubishi.
- Knowledge of industrial safety systems and machinery regulations.
- Experience within automotive, FMCG or high-volume manufacturing environments.
- HNC/HND or apprenticeship background in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics or Automation Engineering.
- Robot programming and commissioning experience.
