Activity Assistant position in Warwick supporting people with disabilities within a Day centre environment. Part-time shifts available on weekdays and Saturdays. Not-for-profit organisation with salary packaging.

Salary: $34.58 – $37.73 per hour + super + salary packaging.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and delivering meaningful activities to clients.
  • Transporting and driving clients on a 12-seater bus to and from the centre-based program.
  • Assisting with group activities and local outings.
  • Promoting wellness, community inclusion, skills building and positive relationships.
  • Ensuring cultural appropriateness of all activities.
  • Contributing to the development of volunteers and students.

What We’re Looking For (Qualifications/Skills):

  • Relevant qualification (e.g., Community Services Certificate III).
  • Experience in a community setting delivering social and recreational activities to vulnerable groups including those with a disability.
  • Creativity and interest in arts (pottery, painting, woodwork, needlework).
  • Administrative skills including use of Microsoft packages.
  • Driver’s licence with ability and willingness to drive a 12-seat bus.
  • First aid certificate (HLTAID009 and HLTAID010) or willingness to obtain.

Formalities:

Appointments require a NDIS worker screening check and a pre-employment medical assessment. Costs for new checks may be covered or reimbursed by Rise.

Location & Hours:

Rise’s Arts Hub, located in Warwick, offers a creative work environment with opportunities to engage clients in hands-on activities (e.g., pottery, painting, woodwork, needlework). Part-time shifts available Monday to Saturday. Applicants must be available to work at least three weekdays (8:00am–3:30pm) plus one Saturday per fortnight (8:30am–2:30pm). Monday, Thursday and Friday availability is preferred.
