Do you want to step away from reactive maintenance and focus on higher-value automation improvements and new controls projects? This is a permanent, on-site role with a long-established UK manufacturer, offering the chance to upskill quickly through external courses and support from experienced internal engineers. You'll be trusted to own projects end-to-end, with flexibility on days and plenty of overtime available when you want it. You'll be joining a business known for designing and building a lot of its own bespoke equipment-meaning the controls work is rarely "industry standard" and will keep you technically engaged. With a stable workforce and long-term growth plans, it's the sort of environment where engineers can build real depth and become the go-to specialist. In this role you'll deliver PLC/controls projects across a busy manufacturing site in Yeovil-developing code, improving machine performance, supporting fault-finding, and upgrading panels, networks, and data capture where needed. This role suits a technically driven engineer who wants structured training and to become a deeper controls specialist (with future scope as the team grows, rather than a guaranteed immediate management path).
