Electrical Maintenance Engineer £49,795 + Training + Benefits Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland – Commutable from Dumfries, Dalbeattie, Castle Douglas, Barnbarroch

Rotating shifts 6am‑6pm, 6pm‑6am (average 42hrs/week)

Due to sustained growth and major site development, they're looking for an Electrical Engineer who thrives in a plant environment – someone who enjoys fault finding under pressure, improving system performance, and expanding into a truly multi‑skilled engineer.

Working alongside an experienced engineering team, you'll be hands‑on with a wide range of industrial systems across sawmilling, timber treatment, and biomass energy operations. From maintaining and optimising PLC‑controlled machinery to driving reliability improvements and reducing downtime, your role will be central to keeping the plant running at peak efficiency.

The Role

  • Permanent, full‑time role working shifts on a large manufacturing site
  • Repairing electromechanical machinery
  • Carrying out planned maintenance checks, finding and fixing any faults
  • 4 on 4 off shift, 12‑hour shifts

The Person

  • Electrical engineering background (any industrial or manufacturing environment)
  • Strong hands‑on electrical maintenance and fault‑finding experience
  • Will look at candidates from facilities management, armed forces or field service backgrounds
