Are you an experienced HSE officer available for an immediate start 3-month contract role? My client works directly with OFGEM as a DNO and requires a skilled HSE Officer to cover a sabbatical leave.
Key responsibilities- Implement HSEQ policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with local laws and regulations.
- Assess workplace HSEQ hazards and risks and recommend appropriate measures to mitigate them.
- Conduct weekly inspections and audits to identify potential safety issues and ensure compliance with established HSEQ protocols.
- Assist in HSEQ Near-miss and Non-compliance incident investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective measures to prevent a recurrence.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for HSEQ inspections, incidents and training.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of HSEQ strategies, plans and procedures, and adjust as needed.
- Provide guidance and support to management and employees on HSEQ-related matters.
- 2+ years' experience in HSEQ industrial or related field.
- Ability to quickly learn new systems independently.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills and experience in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, able to work confidently with colleagues at all levels, including non-technical users.
- Self-starter mentality - able to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
- Proficiency in safety auditing, inspection and identifying hazards.
