As Senior Business Development Manager, you will lead strategic growth for a major multi-utility business across SE and East Midlands. You will manage and mentor a team, cultivate senior client relationships, and shape high-value opportunities from bid through delivery. You’ll collaborate with design and delivery teams to craft commercially sound solutions and drive continuous BD improvements. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a strategic BD plan for Southeast and East Midlands
- Identify high-value opportunities and emerging market trends
- Lead and mentor a team of Business Development Managers
- Cultivate senior-level client and partner relationships
- Manage major project accounts and support high-value opportunities
- Lead commercial discussions, pricing, contract negotiations and deal structures
- Support complex bids with cross-functional teams
- Drive improvements in BD processes and ways of working
- Represent the business at client meetings and industry events
Key requirements
- Proven senior BD/Commercial/Sales leadership experience
- Strong background in utilities, infrastructure, construction or related technical sector
- Experience leading and developing a BD or Sales team
- Sound understanding of utilities (electricity, gas, heat, water, wastewater, fibre)
- Leadership and people development
