In this role, you will lead systems engineering projects across different stages of the lifecycle, from early research and concept advisory through architecture, analysis, planning, and end-of-project certification. You will use your technical expertise, consultative approach, and stakeholder communication skills to deliver practical solutions to complex systems engineering challenges. You will work alongside experienced systems engineering specialists in a consultancy that values knowledge sharing, training, and development. The role involves travel to clients, typically 1-2 days per week in the North Bristol office or visiting client sites.
The ideal candidate is an experienced systems engineer with strong experience across multiple stages of the systems lifecycle. A specialism in one area is fine, as long as there is a solid understanding of the broader systems and requirements. Given the client-facing nature of the role, the right person will combine technical expertise with excellent stakeholder communication and management skills to provide clear solutions across Defence, Space, Nuclear, or Utilities sectors. Experience with requirements management tools and/or industry project management qualifications is desirable. Candidates must hold a valid driving licence, be eligible for or hold SC/DV clearance, and live within a commutable distance to Bristol.
