Engineering Team Leader
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 + 25 Days Holiday + Pension + Training & Development
Location: St Albans (Commutable from Watford, Luton, Hatfield, Hemel Hempstead, and surrounding areas)
Are you an experienced engineer looking for a hands-on leadership role where you can manage operations, mentor a team, and drive technical excellence?
On offer is the chance to oversee day-to-day engineering operations across packaging and manufacturing lines, lead a team of engineers and technicians, implement maintenance strategies, drive continuous improvement projects, and ensure compliance with GMP, Health & Safety, and regulatory standards.
This organisation operate in a high-quality, regulated manufacturing environment and are committed to operational excellence, safety, and compliance. They are looking for a Lead Engineer to help develop and grow their engineering team.
On offer is a technically challenging, hands-on leadership role where you will plan and schedule maintenance, oversee preventative and reactive work, manage suppliers and contractors, maintain accurate compliance records, support CAPA processes, and lead continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Quality, Manufacturing, Packaging, and Supply Chain to deliver operational targets.
This role would suit an experienced engineer looking for a hands-on leadership position where they can manage operations, mentor a team, and make a real impact in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment.
The Role:
- Lead & Manage: Oversee engineering operations and mentor a team of engineers and technicians.
- Maintain & Improve: Plan, schedule, and deliver preventative and reactive maintenance while driving continuous improvement.
- Compliance & Collaboration: Ensure GMP, Health & Safety, and regulatory standards are met while working with cross functional teams.
The Candidate:
- Experienced & Qualified: Hands on engineering background with mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical knowledge, ideally in manufacturing or regulated environments.
- Mentor: Proven ability to manage, develop, and motivate a team of engineers and technicians.
- Technically Competent & Compliant: Skilled in maintenance, troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and working to GMP, Health & Safety, and regulatory standards.
