CNC Machinist Carbon60 are currently looking for a CNC Miller Setter to join one of our Defence clients in Portsmouth, manufacturing high-precision components to tight tolerances. This role involves the operation, running and setting of CNC milling machines as well as performing simple tasks on other machine shop equipment (pillar drills, manual mills, etc). Working Hours: Monday – Thursday, 9 hours per day (Fridays off) Salary: Circa £13/£14 p/h (Experience dependent. Company performance based annual bonus) Responsibilities: To operate and run CNC milling machines (Bridgeport/Heidenheim control) Be able to read geometric drawings Have good communication skills Be able to read and use measuring instruments Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations Documents actions by completing production and quality logs Control tolerances given on drawings Be able to operate other machine shop equipment performing simple tasks i.e. Pillar drills, manual mills Be able to set CNC mills to perform various tasks and operations (Bridgeport/Heidenheim control) Setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math Produce first off components at the beginning of production runs Requirements: Experience in the operation of CNC machines Using Heidenhain controls Understanding of other machine shop equipment Able to read drawings and use measuring instruments (desirable) Being able to set and operate CMM machinery is desirable but not essential If this role is of interest and you meet the above requirements, please apply directly or send your CV Carbon60, Lorien & SRG – The Impellam Group STEM Portfolio are acting as an Employment Business in relation to this vacancy.
