This is an excellent opportunity to join a close-knit, family-run manufacturer where you'll be trained from the ground up, working on bespoke equipment while developing practical mechanical and engineering skills.
This company designs and manufactures specialist products for the defence and marine sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an enthusiastic Workshop Assistant to join their workshop team.
This is a Monday to Friday, days-based position. You'll support the build, assembly, and preparation of components and products, learning directly from experienced engineers. There are overtime opportunities to increase earnings and genuine progression into more skilled mechanical roles.
The Role:
- Full on-the-job workshop training provided
- Assisting with mechanical build and assembly of bespoke products
- Using hand tools and basic workshop equipment (training provided)
- Monday to Friday, days-based role
- Overtime and progression available
The Person:
- Some mechanical exposure (e.g., garage/workshop, assembly, maintenance, fitting, fabrication, DIY/mechanical hobbies)
- Comfortable using hand tools (or keen to learn quickly)
- Practical, hands-on, reliable attitude
- Commutable to Slough
- Looking to build a long-term career in mechanical engineering/manufacturing
