Are you a Junior Utility Surveyor or Trainee Surveyor with some on-site exposure, looking to build a long-term career in utility surveying with structured development and clear progression into senior and even management routes? On offer is a permanent position with a well-established specialist surveying practice, where you will be supported by experienced surveyors on-site, put through Level 3 / Level 5 utility training, and developed into a fully competent surveyor with in-house progression routes.

The company are a close-knit team with a strong track record across water treatment, construction, civils and highways projects. As part of their growth plans, they're committed to taking on and developing trainees each year, creating genuine long-term opportunities for people who want to improve and progress.

In this role you will be predominantly site-based across a regional patch (covering work from Middlesbrough down to Sheffield), carrying out utility surveys using equipment such as GPR and EML. You'll also complete post-processing in the office (typically 1-2 days per week) alongside the wider team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some utility/surveying site exposure who wants full training, long-term development, and the chance to progress into higher-level surveying and processing responsibilities.

The Role:

  • Site-based utility surveying across a regional patch (Middlesbrough to Sheffield)
  • Use of GPR and EML equipment (PAS128 utility surveying)
  • Shadowing and support from senior surveyors as you develop
  • Office-based post-processing 1-2 days per week

The Person:

  • Some on-site exposure to utility surveying / detection equipment (GPR / EML) and survey cameras
  • Looking to actively pursue a career in utility surveying
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Willing to travel to sites across the region and keen to learn / progress long term
