As a Plumbing & Heating Trainer, you will deliver high-quality teaching and training to students across full-time, part-time and short courses. You will support learners through both theory and practical delivery, act as course tutor for groups of students, monitor attendance and progress, and help learners develop the skills, knowledge and confidence required to succeed within the industry. The role will also involve supporting the development of Plumbing & Heating courses, delivering practical demonstrations, contributing to internal verification and quality processes, and helping ensure learners receive an engaging, inclusive and supportive learning experience.

The ideal candidate will have strong Plumbing & Heating industry experience, relevant up-to-date knowledge of the construction or building services sector, and a Level 3 qualification or equivalent professional experience. You should be confident communicating with learners, able to motivate and inspire others, and willing to work towards a teaching qualification such as a Diploma in Teaching and Learning / Certificate in Education. The Role:

  • Deliver Plumbing & Heating teaching and training across full-time, part-time and short courses.
  • Teach both practical and theory-based sessions to students and trainees.
  • Act as course tutor for groups of learners, supporting attendance, progress and achievement.
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate high-quality, motivational and inclusive learning experiences.
  • Support learners with discipline, pastoral guidance and progression.
  • Participate in practical demonstrations and workshop-based activities.
  • Contribute to the development of Plumbing & Heating courses in line with industry demand.
  • Support internal verification, auditing and quality monitoring processes.
  • Assist with the maintenance and development of teaching resources.
  • Participate in student recruitment activities, including shows, open days and career events.
  • Promote safeguarding, health & safety, student conduct and equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • 37 hours per week, with occasional evening or weekend work when required.

The Person:

  • Experienced Plumbing & Heating professional.
  • Level 3 professional qualification or equivalent relevant industry experience.
  • Strong knowledge of the construction / building services industry.
  • Hold, or be willing to work towards, a Diploma in Teaching and Learning / Certificate in Education or equivalent.
  • Minimum GCSE grade C / Level 2 equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Able to motivate, inspire and support learners to successful outcomes.
  • Organised, flexible and able to manage time effectively.
  • Strong team player with a positive and adaptable approach.
  • Committed to CPD, safeguarding, health & safety and putting learners first.
