Are you a Junior Controls Engineer, Automation Engineer or Software Project Engineer looking to accelerate your development on real industrial automation projects, with structured mentoring and a clear route to owning full project lifecycle delivery? On offer is a long-term opportunity to join a well-established nationwide engineering services provider where you'll be developed by an experienced Software Project Manager, building your capability from supporting quotations and specifications through to commissioning and handover.

The business is known for delivering turnkey engineering and automation solutions across sectors such as food & beverage, pharmaceutical, personal care and chemical manufacturing, with a practical, safety-led culture and close collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. Due to continued growth and project demand, they are now looking to add to their specialist software function.

In this role you'll help translate user requirements into functional design specifications, configure control system architectures, and develop/modify PLC, HMI and SCADA software (Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens). You'll also support commissioning, fault-finding and safe site delivery across UK customer sites, with hybrid working once fully inducted.

This role would suit a junior-to-mid level automation engineer who can contribute from day one with PLC/HMI/SCADA exposure and wants structured development, increasing technical responsibility and a genuine route into project management.

The Role:

  • Support delivery of industrial automation projects from quotation/specification through to commissioning
  • Develop and modify PLC, HMI and SCADA software (Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens)
  • Produce project documentation including FDS and RAMS
  • Assist with control architecture, networks and on-site fault-finding/commissioning across UK sites
  • Hybrid working available once fully inducted (office, home and site-based)

The Person:

  • Experience with PLC and either HMI and/or SCADA (the more exposure the better)
  • Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens controls experience
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites
