  • Overview

Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £13.28 an hour; this increases to £14.55 for stores within the M25.

Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but you may work a minimum of 12 hours if that suits you.

Availability windows are as follows: Sun 13:30 – 22:00, Fri 13:30 – 22:00, Sat 13:30 – 22:00.

You will receive 3 weeks notice of your exact shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Know your customers and serve them with passion and pride, giving great natural service.
  • Be passionate and knowledgeable about the products and services in the store.
  • Work across the store in service, picking and replenishment areas as required.
  • Apply the training you have received so that we all work safely, effectively and serve customers brilliantly.
  • Make decisions that are right for customers and deliver routines that meet their needs at the right time.
  • Take part in seasonal, community and charity events, creating an inclusive atmosphere.
  • Be knowledgeable about your store's performance, understanding your role in driving service, sales, reducing waste/shrink and delivering profit.
  • Handle products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in the best condition.
  • Accept deliveries into the store when required.
  • Live the Tesco values, make everyone feel welcome and always follow our policies.
  • Be at work on time, well presented and ready to be a brand ambassador.

Requirements

  • Must be over 18 years old to apply.
  • A passion for delivering great service, greeting customers with a smile.
  • The ability to build rapport with customers so they leave the store having experienced a great shopping trip.
  • The initiative to make decisions that are right for customers.
  • Good teamwork and open communication with colleagues.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
