We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager to join a growing business and take ownership of the sales function.
This is a hands‑on role in a small, close‑knit company where you will have real influence over strategy, budgets and team development, with the opportunity to shape how the department grows.
You will lead and develop a small sales team, working closely with the Sales Director to set and deliver a clear business development strategy.
You will take full ownership of sales performance and profitability, while also getting stuck into the day‑to‑day admin and processes that keep the department running smoothly.
As the company is small, you will be expected to flex into other areas when needed, with training and support provided.
Your responsibilities as a Sales Manager
- Recruit, train and lead a sales team, identifying and developing a potential successor.
- Develop and maintain a documented business development strategy, approved by senior management.
- Analyse sales figures and forecasts to maximise sales and profit.
- Hold regular staff appraisals and document and action outcomes.
- Own full profit & loss responsibility against agreed budgets.
- Maintain administration, quoting, stock control and compliance records to company and quality standards.

- Strong product knowledge, with the ability to quickly source information from colleagues or external sources.
- Excellent telephone manner, confident handling objections and identifying cross‑sell/up‑sell opportunities.
- Experience managing budgets and P&L.
