Packaging Engineer - Senior

A leading FMCG business in Nottingham is looking to recruit a Senior Packaging Engineer to lead in the structural design and engineering processes for all of their product packaging. As the Senior Packaging Engineer, you will be responsible for creating cost improvement strategies for both existing and new package designs that will reduce packaging waste, leading the business towards a more sustainable packaging operation. You will understand the tax implications on plastic packaging and be a key stakeholder in the NPD process, ensuring packaging data and systems are managed and maintained. You will be the main liaison with graphic designers, industrial designers, product engineers, global and regional marketing stakeholders, creative agencies and vendors, taking a lead role in concept, design, prototyping and production reviews. To be considered for this role, you will have experience in a similar role, ideally in consumer products packaging, and have worked with suppliers in the UK, Europe and China. You will be knowledgeable in packaging software and applications such as CAPE, ArtiosCAD, and Adobe Illustrator and have a sound understanding of regulations and test procedures. The successful applicant will be paid a competitive salary of £40-50,000 dependent on experience, with a benefits package that includes company bonus, contributory pension, generous holiday and a host of other incentives. The company operate a hybrid working week of 3 days in the office.
