I am currently recruiting for an experienced Merchandiser to join a well-known apparel and retailer based within their Head Office in London. You will be responsible for implementing and managing the multi-channel merchandising strategy on your own product area. As an integral part of the Merchandising team, you will enjoy working in a busy fast-paced retail support office environment; some of your duties will include:
- Implement a customer centric Category range/strategy.
- Responsible for managing the category budget.
- Managing WSSI by accurately forecasting demand, OTB, returns, and margin.
- Building relationships with internal teams to continuously develop & optimise product lines.
- Continually monitor both market & competitor activity.
- Working cross-functionally with warehousing, shipping, finance & sales teams to optimise sales and margin, while ensuring high levels of professionalism are achieved.
- Working closely with internal teams to improve product forecasting.
- Reviewing Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Sales performance.
- Contributing to the supplier review processes.
- Highlighting & reviewing stock management/flow to increase sales of high performing lines & reduce less successful lines.
- Taking full ownership of your area and acting on any category issues as they arise.
- Assisting with developing the junior team members.
Key requirements for this role:
- Previous experience in retail Merchandising is essential.
- Good level of education is required.
- Highly accurate with a good attention to detail.
- Ability to manage a varied workload.
- High commercial awareness.
- Strong numerical skills with the ability to analyse data.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise/influence effectively at all levels.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office products specifically Excel.
