I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Head of Marketing to join a leading UK retailer on a 6-9 month interim basis at their South West London office. You will be responsible for transforming the Marketing, PR and Brand strategy for the brand into a faster, more commercial, product-led engine that drives store performance, builds brand strength and supports online sales growth. Working with various internal departments, you will have full responsibility for defining and implementing the marketing strategy, which consists of digital campaigns, supplier partnerships, influencers and sponsorships, local marketing, and multimedia content production to ensure continued growth.

Your main responsibilities as the Head of Marketing will involve:

  • Developing and executing the full marketing and communications strategy for the brand and overall product portfolio.
  • Working closely with Buying, Merch and Operations to build marketing plans that align tightly to the commercial calendar.
  • Focusing on retail stores being the primary marketing stage, including window displays, POS, screens, events and instore theatre, with digital and online activity supporting rather than leading.
  • Maintaining the brand focus of repeatable customer approach to store-led campaigns that drive footfall, conversion and basket.
  • Ensuring Own Brand offerings are alongside supplier branded products.
  • Full management of the annual marketing budget.
  • Ensuring marketing activity directly supports trading priorities, space decisions and seasonal moments to maximise seasonal spend.
  • Reviewing and revising the overall content strategy and execution.
  • Monitoring and updating all campaigns regularly as required.
  • Developing the social media strategy and presence.
  • Analysing the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and activity using pre-determined KPIs.

Key requirements for the role:

  • Proven leadership experience within a senior marketing role from a fast-paced retail brand is essential.
  • Highly creative with the ability to manage numerous marketing projects simultaneously with a commercial edge.
  • Strong experience of marketing own brand alongside supplier brands.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
